It all began in 1965

1965

Prishtina Airport was officially opened and initially was opened for domestic flights only.

1985 

 It has been equipped with modern technology in compliance with ICAO standards.

June 1999

Airport was transferred into an International Airport with reactivation and promotion on the date of 15th October 1999 after a war providing air transport to several European cities.

2000   

Initially this airport has operated for humanitarian flights until the beginning of the year. During that period of time Russian KFOR forces along with other NATO forces and allies were in charge for security of the Airport.

Airport Prishtina initially has begun its operations and other airport matters with 45 employed workers in total.

2002

The apron, the passenger terminal is being renovated and expanded work to be completed in the next few months (by the end of the summer), utilizes and energy supplies were upgraded and the buildings used for cargo traffic were newly built.

2002-2006

Airport estimated 800.000 up to 1.000.000 passengers were receipted and escorted annually.

The airport has re-build the facilities and new equipment was installed which helps offering a wide range of quality services to its passengers and visitors.

The airport needs were oriented towards the renovation in the post war period. In the last 3 years the company renovated and reorganized the airport completely.

2007

In the first part of this year, the number of pasangers has been increased for 11%.
